wife of Schraga Fievish Foucks. She and her husband were merchants in Zinkov where they owned a small dry goods store. They had one son, Duvid (later David) who emigrated to Eretz Yisroel in 1921 and to the United States in 1926. David married Sonia Fligman with whom he had two sons, Isaac and Franklin. He attempted to bring his parents to the United States as well but was thwarted by the State Department’s pre-World War II restrictive immigration policies that included quotas for Jews. Schraga died in 1938 at age 58 of appendicitis. Batya was murdered in Zinkov in 1941 by Nazi Einsatzgruppen forces.
